Dallas ISD announced on Thursday the hiring of South Oak Cliff Wide Receivers Coach Adrian Madise as the next head football coach at Hillcrest High School.
Madise replaces Jacob Ramon, who stepped down after leading the Panthers the past six seasons.
“I think Hillcrest over the years has been a solid program," Madise said. "They are consistently in playoff contention, so that made it attractive initially."
Madise has a decorated career as both a player and coach as the Lancaster graduate was a standout WR at TCU before moving on to an NFL career where he spent time with the Broncos, 49ers, Buccaneers, Titans and Redskins.
After hanging the cleats up after the 2010 season, Madise began his coaching career at Red Oak and then went to Dallas Lincoln, Dallas Skyline, Dallas Wilson, West Mesquite South Oak, Lamar two years, Houston C.E. King and back to SOC.
"I’ve been around coaches and programs that have helped catapult kids into college," he said. "If they work hard and buy-in to the program they can go on to college and get a head start on life. I felt like Hillcrest gives me that opportunity to bring that platform to another Dallas ISD program."
