Dave Campbell’s Friday Night Football presented by Huntington Bank visits brand new Argyle ISD Stadium for an intriguing showdown of state-ranked Class 5A programs.

Highland Park, after two close losses to 6A programs to open the season, got into the win column for the first time with a 38-21 win at home over Tyler High.

SMU QB commit Buck Randall led the charge for Highland Park with 358 yards and three passing touchdowns and the Scots defense played their best game of the young season in the victory.

Argyle has won two straight after a one-point loss in the season opener. Last week the Eagles demolished Somerset Academy out of Nevada 70-21.

Texas Tech WR commit Julian Caldwell returned from injury and looked in mid-season form with five receptions for 182 yards and four touchdowns in the victory. QB Hayes Hackney had another strong performance as he threw for 285 yards and six scores, and he ran for a score as well.

Look for a high-scoring affair. Both offenses are lethal and both defenses have shown they can be scored on. I’m giving the edge in this one to Argyle; they are at home and I think the defense for the Eagles is a little more equipped to get a couple of stops.

Stepp’s Pick: Argyle by 6
