Corley, Martin Power Graham into Rarified 7-on-7 Air

Graham capped an unbeaten 8-0 weekend by defeating Van Alstyne 32-25 in the Division II Texas 7-on-7 State Championship Game, becoming just the second program in Texas 7-on-7 history to win four state titles.

COLLEGE STATION — Graham became just the second school in the history of the Texas 7-on-7 State Tournament to win four titles as the Steers took down a tough Van Alstyne squad ,32-25, on Friday to win the Division II crown.

The victory capped off an 8-0 run for the weekend for Graham, but it didn’t come easy. The Steers had to beat a really good La Marque squad twice on the weekend, including a 19-13 thriller in the semifinals. Graham won a 14-12 quarterfinal slugfest over 2024 champion Hamshire-Fannett.

In the title game the Steers offense was absolutely flawless with QB Cooper Corley and WR Brodie Martin connecting for three touchdown passes, as Graham scored on their first five drives of the game. Only on the game’s final drive did Graham not score as the Steers held the ball to allow the clock to run out.

“This just feels amazing,” Corley said. “We’ve come up short the last two years, going out in the second round, so we wanted to go out with a bang and I’m proud of my guys. Our defense stepped up. At first everybody kind of hated on them, but they made plays when it counted and I couldn’t get it done without my receivers making great plays and running great routes.”
