Round Rock McNeil
Fresh off a district championship, former Arlington Bowie offensive line coach Jonathan Cruz makes the move to central Texas. Cruz says that while his team will be young, the Mavericks have dynamic athletes. RB Zylen Hall is one of the most productive returners after rushing for 720 yards and six touchdowns. Junior athlete Kaden Kerney earned Second Team All-District defensive back honors, but was also the team’s leading receiver. He should pair nicely with rising sophomore WR Brayden Norman.
Tuscola Jim Ned
The Indians have made the third round of the playoffs in each of Coach Johnathon McClure’s first two seasons. But McClure’s crew will need to make an almost wholesale line change on offense in 2026. Senior OL Kyle Springer is the only returning starter. McClure says senior RB/LB Cole Chittum has had an excellent offseason and will play a massive role on both sides of the ball.
Yoakum
Coach Bo Robinson’s Bulldogs must hit the reset button after winning the first state championship in program history. X’Zavier Barnett (SMU) and Jace Morales (Army) are both off to the college ranks after each rushing for over 190 yards in the title game. Brothers Germann Robinson (QB/SS) and Germarquis Robinson (RB/CB) both have Malakoff High School listed in their X bios.
Yoakum does return First Team All-District wide receiver Kennan Dilworth (5-foot-7, 155 pounds).
