Realignment could always shake out in a number of different ways, but using Matt Stepp's 6A Mock Realignment as a guide, we put pen to paper and tried to figure out where some of the talent hotbeds are going to be in 2026. There are a couple of scenarios that could push teams here or there that could completely flip the narrative when the actual realignment comes.
10-6A: Rockwall-Heath, Forney, Rockwall, Royse City, North Forney, Tyler Legacy, Mesquite Horn, Longview
Every team in this district would boast P4-level prospects.
Let's start in East Texas, where a pair of elite prospects reside: Longview 2028 WR Jaden Hurndon (6'1,185) and Tyler Legacy 2027 OL DeMarrion Johnson (6'5, 310). Hurndon is considered one of the top WRs in the class, and Johnson is already committed to play his college ball at Texas A&M. Both are already rated as four-star prospects.
North Forney has become an absolute prospect powerhouse, and they are loaded with younger talent that will keep colleges flocking to the school. 2027 WR Briceson Thrower (6'3, 175) had a breakout season and has already secured offers from TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas tech and more.
Forney will reload after losing some of its star power from a terrific 2025 team, but it all starts up front with a pair of dominant 2027 offensive linemen in Jordan Carraway (6'5, 320) and Mason Joshua (6'5, 270). They already have over 30 offers between them.
13-6A: Conroe, The Woodlands, Conroe Grand Oaks, The Woodlands College Park, Conroe Caney Creek, Willis, Conroe Oak Ridge
The schools in this proposed district steadily produce recruits at a high clip.
The Woodlands College Park has a lot to be excited about. 2027 WR Julian Cromartie (6'2, 180) has already earned DCTX four-star status and picked up offers from Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan and more. 2027 QB Camden Hughes (6'1, 185) will be throwing him the rock and had a tremendous junior season, putting his name firmly on the P4 radar.
Willis will be without Jermaine Bishop, but 2029 QB Linc Frazier (6'2, 205) took the reins and had a tremendous freshman season, making him a clear name to know moving forward. 2028 DB Jamal Lagway (5'10, 150), the younger brother of former Mr. Texas Football DJ Lagway, gets more impressive with every rep.
11-6A: Duncanville, South Grand Prairie, Waxahachie, Grand Prairie, Mansfield Lake Ridge, Mansfield, Red Oak, Dallas Skyline
There is no doubt that this would be a drastically different look in 11-6A, which is often dubbed the District of Doom, but Waxahachie and Duncanville will single-handedly boast as many D1 prospects as most districts in the state.
Let's start with 2027 Waxahachie S JayQuan Snell (6'3, 200), who is absolutely one of the best safeties in the entire country and is in the mix to be a DCTX five-star and finish as one of the five highest-rated recruits in the state. The Texas A&M commit is a ferocious hitter and is must-watch TV.
Duncanville just continues to reload, and there are a bunch of bright stars coming up in the trenches and in the secondary, but a name you must know is 2027 WR Trenton Yancey (5'10, 180), who is already one of the most heavily offered prospects in the state with 39 offers.
