Celina ISD Proposes $2.3B Bond for New Schools and Facilities

Celina ISD is putting forth a $2.3 billion May 2025 bond proposal to fund new campuses, land and buses that would have funds to build new high schools.

One of TXHSFB’s preeminent title towns may be adding a second high school within the decade.

Community Impact reported on February 4 that Celina ISD proposed a $2.295 million bond to build seven new elementary schools (which would bring the total to 13), two new middle schools (bringing the total to four), and a second high school. The second high school would open in either 2029 or 2030, and the district expects to have three to four high schools in the next 20 years.

“A vote for this bond is a vote for the future of Celina ISD," bond committee member Ben Hangartner said. “Let’s come together and invest in our schools and support our students together. We can honor the legacy of our past and build the future.”
