Texas A&M top transfer wide receiver set to miss months with injury

Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver Jabre Barber, a transfer from Troy, is set to miss multiple months following foot surgery.

Jabre Barber emerged this spring as a potential No.1 option at wide receiver. Now, Texas A&M needs a player to step up in his extended absence.

The Troy transfer is expected to miss several months following foot surgery. Matt Zenitz of 247Sports was the first to report.

Barber was a high-profile transfer for the Aggies after posting 75 receptions for 999 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. He was living up to the hype in his first spring football. The 5-foot-10, 175 pound receiver also worked at punt returner for Texas A&M. This is Barber's second significant injury in college. He suffered a season-ending leg injury in Troy's sixth game of the year in 2022.

Texas A&M lost Evan Stewart to Oregon in the offseason, but does retain three key receivers from its 2023 team. Jahdae Walker, Moose Muhammad III and Noah Thomas continue to make strides. Louisiana Tech transfer Cyrus Allen has been a spring standout.
