Chalk up a win for Texas high school football.
Blue-chip 2025 safety Jonah Williams announced Thursday that he will play his junior season at his home school of Galveston Ball, days after he announced he would transfer to Florida powerhouse IMG Academy.
Williams announced on Monday that he would transfer to the prestigious prep boarding school, but shared on social media on Thursday that he had changed his mind, citing that "my heart is telling me to stay home."
Williams is the top-ranked safety and No. 7 overall prospect in the 2025 DCTF Rising Hot 100, and already boasts 23 college offers, including Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma and Ohio State. The 6-2, 195-pound defensive back was the District 9-5A Division I MVP as a sophomore, leading Galveston Ball to a perfect regular season and the best statistical defense in Texas high school football at any level.
