New TCU RB Commit is a Stat-Producing Giant with More than 35 Offers

New TCU running back commit Nate Palmer brings a winning pedigree and eye-popping stats to Forth Worth, which should put a smile on Sonny Dykes' face and Horned Frog fans everywhere.

Decatur 2024 RB Nate Palmer (5'11, 185) committed to TCU over Arkansas, Duke, North Carolina, and USC offers.

Palmer was one of the state's most heavily recruited prospects, collecting 37 scholarship offers before announcing his decision to play for the Horned Frogs.

Palmer burst onto the recruiting scene in 2021 when he was named the 8-5A Division I Co-Offensive Newcomer of the Year, following a sophomore campaign where he led College Station to a 15-1 record and an appearance in the state title game.

In 2022, following a move to Decatur, Palmer continued to showcase his ability to dominate under the Friday night lights.

Palmer earned District 4-4A Division I Offensive MVP honors and led the Eagles to the semifinals, accumulating 2,250 rushing yards and scoring 25 touchdowns on 328 carries. Additionally, he caught 30 passes for 308 yards and eight touchdowns.

"Strong explosive runner with great hands and blocking ability," Decatur head coach Steve Huff said of Palmer's talents.

Palmer is the No. 77 prospect in the 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100.
