Ropes AD/HFC Lane Jackson Stepping Down as HFC

Lane Jackson steps aside as HFC after 27 years of handling AD, HFC and Head Boys Basketball Coach duties

Fast growing Ropesville will have a new head football coach for the first time in 27 years as Lane Jackson is stepping away from the football role and will focus solely on being the Ropes ISD Athletic Director and head boys basketball coach.

“I’ve been doing both jobs for the past 27 years here at Ropes and felt like with all the growth we have coming in that it’s time for someone to come in and run the football program, I didn’t feel like me doing both gave either sport the justice it deserves,” said Coach Jackson.

Coach Jackson guided Ropesville through their transition back to eleven man football in 2020 and in three years the Eagles have been more than competitive posting a 15-12 record and making the playoffs in three straight seasons.

The job is already posted on the Ropes ISD website and it expects to be one that draws some interest due to the attractive location, growth and solid talent from a junior high group that lost just a single game a year ago.
