TCU’s Griffin Kell named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week

TCU’s Griffin Kell was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week. Kell played a huge roll in keeping TCU’s undefeated season and playoff hopes alive with his walk off game-winning field goal in the Horned Frogs 29-28 victory over Baylor. Kell is now just outside the top ten nationally in overall field goal percentage ranking 11th in the country on 12 of 13 field goals. Kell’s only field goal against Baylor was as dramatic as they get as TCU ran the ball on the previous play with no timeouts and the TCU Special team's unit had to run on the field and set up quickly and did so efficiently as the Horned Frogs snapped the ball off in time before the game clock hit zero and Kell’s 40-yard field goal attempt right down the middle.

TCU is still within reach of the College Football playoff as they have two games remaining before bowl season. TCU will play Iowa State in Fort Worth this coming Saturday at 3:00 pm (CT). TCU will play in the Big 12 Championship the following Saturday.
