Recruit of the Week

Allen 2023 DE David "DJ" Hicks (6'4, 268) was the most-talented prospect to take the field at Sunday's Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase at Richardson High School. 

The No. 1-rated prospect in the state looked the part. Hicks was dominant in the drills and took on all comers in the one-on-ones, exhibiting a warrior's attitude. 

On the recruiting front, Hicks plans to make a final decision at the 2023 Under Armour All-America Game. His spring visit schedule is still in flux, but he might trip to see schools like TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami (FL), Oklahoma and Oregon. 

Commit of the Week

Henderson 2023 QB Jacobe Robinson (6'4, 215) committed to Boston College over offers from Alcorn State, Jackson State, Northwestern State and Yale. 

Robinson is the younger brother of former TXHSFB state title-winning QB Shawn Robinson (DeSoto). The son of Henderson head coach Othell Robinson. 

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: A big-bodied quarterback who has a compact release. Robinson has a high football IQ and all the intangibles of coach's son. Stays strong in the pocket and can extend plays and avoid the rush. Throws from different arm angles but shows the ability to make all the throws.
