DCTF Four-Star WR Matthew Golden Talks Latest Recruiting News

TOMBALL, Texas – TexasFootball.com was able to catch up with Klein Cain star wide receiver Matthew Golden to gain an updated outlook on his recruitment as his process begins to wind down in the coming weeks.

Friday night, Klein Cain won dominantly over Cypress Woods, 52-20, to capture the UIL Bi-District crown. DCTF four-star WR Matthew Golden (6'0, 190) finished with four receptions for 26 yards and one touchdown.

Golden, a one-time TCU commit, chose to reopen his recruitment following the dismissal of Gary Patterson. 

Texas, Minnesota, and LSU quickly entered the conversation by offering Golden within days after he parted ways with TCU.

Official visits are something to keep track of as Golden tries to narrow his decision. He plans to take his visits in December with several schools on the docket. 

On Friday, he told reporters that Houston, Texas and LSU visits are most likely.

Golden has been in contact with Texas wide receivers coach Andre Coleman and head coach Steve Sarkisian. 

"The relationship keeps getting stronger," informed Golden.  

When asked if Texas would get an official visit from Golden in December, he answered, "Yes, most definitely."
