?Throwing to a bevy of sure-handed receivers, Kaufman quarterback Trey Collier and his calm demeanor put the Lions in position to win the Division II crown Friday at the Texas 7-on-7 State Championships.

Kaufman junior cornerback Dre Prox intercepted a sideline pass from Somerset quarterback Zadock Dinkelmann and sprinted into the end zone to open the second half, giving Kaufman a huge edge en route to a 32-27 victory in the Division II championship game at Veterans Park.

?Tyler Grace Community made a high-scoring run to take the Division II consolation title. The Cougars averaged 45 points per game Friday with their best offensive effort coming in the final, a 53-27 win over Bay City.
