MVP Hill's 6 TD Passes Leads Tyler Lee Over Katy Taylor

Josh Hill threw six touchdown passes to lead the Tyler Lee Red Raiders to a 40-26 victory over Katy Taylor in the championship of the Fox Sports Net 7-on-7 State Championship at Kyle Field.

COLLEGE STATION - Josh Hill threw six touchdown passes to lead the Tyler Lee Red Raiders to a 40-26 victory over Katy Taylor in the championship of the Fox Sports Net 7-on-7 State Championship at Kyle Field. Four of Hill's touchdown passes came in the first half, two of them to D'angelo Jones as Lee built a two-score lead at the half. Hill was named the MVP of the tournament. 

Taylor cut the lead to just seven with 5 minutes and 40 seconds remaining, but Hill found Tony Bush on the Red Raiders next possession to put the game away. Bush was on the receiving end of two of Hill's touchdown passes, while Walter Simpson and Jonathan Williams each caught one. Lee advanced to the championship game with victories over Klein Collins, Allen, defending champion Odessa Permian and North Mesquite. 

In the consolation final Colleyville Heritage's Chris Ponder found Donald Markley with less than 20 seconds remaining as the Panthers downed Alief Taylor, 32-26. Taylor scored with just under three minutes remaining to tie the game, but Colleyville moved down the field for the go-ahead score.
