DCTF announces 2020 Preseason All-Texas College Teams

Texas A&M, Texas lead state with 17 combined honorees; SMU paces AAC with six.

Texas Football magazine revealed its 2020 Preseason All-Texas College teams on Wednesday. The honorees will be featured in the 2020 summer preview edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

The teams include 52 student-athletes from all 12 FBS football programs in the state of Texas. Texas A&M led the way with nine total honorees, but Texas slightly edged out the Aggies with five first-team selections. SMU earned six picks, edging out Houston’s four for the most among Group of Five programs. Eight of the players were also named Postseason All-Texas College in 2019.

In addition, eight student-athletes were honored by DCTF as superlatives at their respective positions:

  • Best quarterback: Shane Buechele, SMU
  • Best running back: Sincere McCormick, UTSA
  • Best receiver: Reggie Roberson, SMU
  • Best offensive lineman: Samuel Cosmi, Texas
  • Best defensive lineman: Keondre Coburn, Texas
  • Best linebacker: Terrel Bernard, Baylor
  • Best defensive back: Trevon Moehrig, TCU
  • Best special teams: Austin McNamara, Texas Tech
