Texas high school football program tabs hoops coach as next HC

Thorndale’s successful football program turns to its successful basketball program for its next head football coach as John Kovar, who has led Thorndale hoops for the past six seasons, is taking over as head football coach/athletic director.

Thorndale’s successful football program turns to its successful basketball program for its next head football coach as John Kovar, who has led Thorndale hoops for the past six seasons, is taking over as head football coach/athletic director.

Kovar led the Bulldogs boys basketball team to the state tournament in three straight seasons from 2016-2018. Kovar will give up his duties as the boys basketball coach and will focus solely on leading the football team and the athletic department.
