Longhorns Add Two Four-Stars in Busy Recruiting Weekend

S Xavion Alford and WR Quentin Johnston both pulled the trigger on commitments to Texas.

On Friday, four-star Shadow Creek 2020 S Xavion Alford (6'0, 185) announced that he was committing to Texas over Texas A&M.

Alford is rated as the No. 18 prospect overall in the DCTF Hot 100, checking in as the No. 3 safety in Texas.

Alford's commitment gave the 'Horns early verbal commitments from four of the states Top 20 (ATH Ja'Quinden Jackson, QB Hudson Card, OL Jaylen Garth).

Alford is talented enough to play S or CB in the Big 12.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Alford is a defensive back prospect with really good feet and hips. He showed plus range from his free safety position, closes on the ball quickly, and plays well in space. Alford has the size and skillset to translate to an island corner prospect in college but plays in the middle of the field in high school so that he can be more involved snap to snap.
