Cardinals senior TAKES HOME STATEWIDE HONORS FOR WEEK 9 OF THE 2017 TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON.
Congratulations to La Villa QB Zach Gomez, the Week 9 winner of the Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week award, presented by Wells Fargo in conjunction with the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl. The 6-0, 190-pound senior ran for 313 yards and 9 touchdowns while adding 275 yards through the air in the Cardinals’ 59-40 win over Freer.
Cardinals fans can also be praised for their part in this honor, as they voted often enough to make sure that Zach received the most votes in the poll on TexasFootball.com.
