Week 3 Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week — Abilene Cooper RB Tyrees Whitfield
Cougars senior TAKES HOME STATEWIDE HONORS FOR WEEK 3 OF THE 2017 TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON.
Congratulations to Abilene Cooper RB Tyrees Whitfield, the Week 3 winner of the Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week award, presented by Wells Fargo in conjunction with the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl. The 5-10, 180-pound senior ran for 259 yards and 6 touchdowns, and caught three passes for 73 yards and another score in the Cougars’ win over rival Abilene.
Cougars fans can also be praised for their part in this honor, as they voted often enough to make sure that Tyrees received the most votes in the poll on TexasFootball.com.
