ROUGHNECKS SOPHOMORETAKES HOME STATEWIDE HONORS FOR WEEK 1 OF THE 2017 TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON.
Congratulations to Sundown QB/DB Christian Huey, the Week 1 winner of the Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week award, presented by Wells Fargo in conjunction with the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl. The 5-6, 170-pound sophomore ran for 102 yards and three touchdowns, threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns, and notched two interceptions defensively in the Roughnecks’ 46-41 win over Wink.
Roughnecks fans can also be praised for their part in this honor, as they voted often enough to make sure that Ethan received the most votes in the poll on TexasFootball.com.
