Bellville 2025 DT DJ Sanders (6'4, 290) is one of the state's most heavily recruited prospects and secured offers from a who's who of colleges.
Ultimately, Sanders felt that College Sation was the best fit for him, and he committed to the Aggies over offers from Texas and Michigan.
"I like how they scheme on defense," Sanders explained. "I like the coaching staff and how they get (interact) with their players every day."
Sanders is intrigued by A&M Defensive Coordinator Jay Bateman's schemes, allowing him to move around the defensive front playing defensive tackle and defensive end, which is exactly how he is used at Bellville.
"I hope in college I get to play both sides of the ball at defensive tackle and defensive end," Sanders said. "Coach Bateman is a funny guy and he calls me every two weeks; we talk about life, talk about school."
As a junior, Sanders helped lead Bellville to the state title game, collecting 115 tackles, 28 TFLs and 15 sacks to earn DCTF Whataburger Super Team and THSCA Super Elite honors.
