Texas Tech fans must be excited about how well the Red Raiders have recruited under the direction of Joey McGuire. Saturday's Junior Day is another prime example of the strides the staff has made in making inroads with the state's top-rated prospects. The event will be a star-studded affair with a DCTF five-star headlining the list.
Here are five attendees every Texas Tech fan should know.
WR Micah Hudson (6'0, 185) - Lake Belton:
Tech is positioned well in the race for the DCTF five-star who has collected 35 scholarship offers from coast-to-coast. The visit could go a long way to setting up the Red Raiders as a firm favorite.
CB Selman Bridges (6'3, 170) - Lake Belton:
Bridges is a DCTF four-star prospect who has been one of the hottest prospects in the state since the end of the 2022 season, collecting 15 new P5 offers, but Tech was his very first offer in the spring of 2022.
RB Kedren Young (5'11, 205) - Lufkin:
Young has blown up with recent attention, but the staff in Lubbock has made him a priority since day one. Young is extremely effective in between the tackles, with the requisite power to escape weak tackling attempts. He is the type of RB that the Red Raiders can build the offense around.
DE Travis Jackson (6'4, 230) - Tyler Legacy:
Jackson was recently recognized as a Rivals four-star prospect, marking him as one of the state's top defensive linemen. A disruptor who collected 15 TFLs and 7.5 sacks in 2022. Texas Tech was his first offer, and is firmly positioned as a candidate to land his commitment.
WR Ashton Bethel-Roman (6'2, 170) - Fort Bend Ridge Point:
Bethel-Roman is a DCTF RISING Hot 100 member and a 247Sports Composite four-star. A silky, smooth route runner who can create a lot of separation at the top of his routes. We have Bethel-Roman on commit watch.
