2024 ATH Chandlin Myers (6'2, 175) had an interception and some big plays in Hawley's 54-28 win over Refugio in the 2A Division I state title game.

"We knew what we had to do from the first day at practice," Myers said. "We knew that everything we did was going to be on us. We knew that we had some positions to fill in from the year before and I think the captains did a very good job of executing that as well as everybody else. We put in the extra work to perform as well as we can, and I think we did that today and throughout the whole season."

Myers is verbally committed to playing his college ball at Texas Tech, a place he has quickly fallen in love with.

"Everything man, Tech is an amazing place," Myers said. "I love everything about it. Joey McGuire and his staff are all nice and they are really down-to-earth people and that is what I respect. They respect you as a person and what you are going to do after you graduate and after you do what you are going to do (on the field). He cares about you as a person, is what I am really trying to say and I respect that to the fullest."

It doesn't take long to notice that Myers is a P5-type of talent. He is long and rangy and makes quick cuts on the field. His interception in the state championship game showcased his ability to climb the ladder and play over the top.

He could make an impact on the next level at wide receiver or in the defensive secondary, but the jury is still out on how he fits into the scheme at Tech. He is open to playing wherever his coach needs him.

"Really just both," Myers said when asked what position Tech had targeted him to play. "(I can be) a deep threat and a lockdown corner. Whatever the coach needs me to do, I am going to do it. It is a business. My love for the game is so high I would do anything for my coach."
