Prospect on the Rise

2023 Lake Belton S/OLB Javeon Wilcox (6'1, 190) has picked up in-state recent offers from UTSA and SMU.  

Wilcox plays safety for the Broncos, but his future may be in the box.

"He plays boundary safety for us," Lake Belton head coach Brian Cope said. "His frame could easily hold 215 or more. He is physical enough to play linebacker. I really think, down the road, that is where he is headed. That is where a lot of people are looking at him."

"His nickname is 'Boom' for a reason. He doesn't miss too many tackles. I will tell you that right now."

Commit of the Week

Clear Lake CB Julian Humphrey (6'1, 185) committed to Georgia over Texas A&M and LSU offers. 

Humphrey is rated as a DCTF four-star prospect, checking in at No. 20 in the DCTF Hot 100. 

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Humphrey racked up over 30 offers. He is one of the state's best cover corners. He has the requisite flexibility, size, and speed to take on the opposition's best receiver and keep his hands off the ball. Don't be surprised to hear his name called in the NFL Draft in a few years.

2023 Post OLB/DE Isaiah Crawford (6'4, 210) committed to Texas Tech just a few days after decommitting from Baylor. 

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: The versatile hybrid defender was named the District Newcomer of the Year, helping the Antelopes to a 15-1 record and an appearance in the state championship game. Crawford already has nine early scholarship offers.

Recruit of the Week

Rockwall 2022 QB Braedyn Locke (6'1, 195) passed Ryan Polite to rise to second on the all-time 6A passing leader list and now sits at No. 17 overall in TXHSFB. 

Locke has now passed for 10,838 yards and 128 touchdowns in his three-year prep career. 

The DCTF three-star is verbally committed to play at Mississippi State.
