The dead period is over and in-person recruiting returned to the Lone Star State and the rest of the country. In this feature, we take a look at some of the recent recruiting visits of the state's top college programs and elite prospects.

In-State

UTSA landed a commitment from Gilmer 2021 QB Brandon Tennison (5'10, 180) to kick off an exciting weekend of recruiting news in TXHSFB.

Texas A&M had an important weekend of visitors on campus, headlined by DCTF four-stars DT Bear Alexander (6'3, 325), S Bryce Anderson (6'0, 190), and OLB Harold Perkins (6'3, 200). Alexander decommitted from Georgia after returning home from the visit.

The Longhorns played host to a pair of important in-state recruits in Tenaha ATH Jeremy Patton (6'1, 210) and Texas High OLB Derrick Brown (6'4, 210). Texas put its best foot forward with both recruits, but they still plan on taking more official visits before finalizing a decision.

TCU has reportedly taken big strides forward with Coppell OT Alvin Ebosele (6'5, 280) and Rockwall-Heath WR Jay Fair (5'11, 185). The Horned Frogs also hosted a camp and hosted top 2023 Denton Ryan LB Anthony Hill (6'2, 225).

Texas Tech played host to Lebanon Trail OT Austin Kawecki (6'4, 265). This is a big recruitment for the Red Raiders as they have consistently done well in Frisco and there are some strong ties here. After seeing Lubbock, Kawecki headed to USC for an official visit.

SMU had a major camp on campus as universities from across the country were in attendance. SMU took special notice of Denton Ryan 2023 RB Kalib Hicks (5'10, 195), extending him an offer after a strong camp showing. New Mexico, UTSA, and TCU also offered.

Out of State

Ohio State hosted five-star QB commit Quinn Ewers (6'3, 205) from Southlake Carroll and four-star WR commit Caleb Burton (6'0, 165) from Lake Travis. The Buckeyes also got the first visit from Duncanville phenom DE Omari Abor (6'4, 240). Ohio State has enjoyed a lot of recent success recruiting Texas.

Frisco Liberty WR Evan Stewart (6'0, 175) -- a one-time Texas Longhorns commit -- used one of his official visits to see Florida.

Following a successful trip to Colorado, Post DE/TE Zach Courtney (6'6, 240) verbally committed to the Buffaloes.
