There has been very limited action in regards to the evaluation process across the Lone Star State in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Kyron Drones had a chance to star at the Elite 11 and moved up the list and there were a few new evaluations made that moved a few guys up.

DCTF is partnered with Next Level Athlete to help create our TXHSFB Hot 100 in the Class of 2020.

The Texas high school football coach’s recommendation and in-person evaluations play a significant role in DCTF’s rankings process. Through those combined efforts we try to provide our fans an accurate guideline to track the top college-bound prospects in the state.

Rankings Risers in the Update DCTF Hot 100

QB Kyron Drones - Shadow Creek

Drones had an excellent performance at the Elite 11 and was picked by the staff as one of the top quarterbacks in attendance. The Baylor commitment helped lead the Sharks to a state title win, so he gets a much-deserved bump up the list and is the lone four-star addition in this round of rankings. He now checks in at No. 39 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100.

OL Tate Williams - Wall

Williams emerged out of nowhere and is now one of the highest-rated offensive line prospects in the state, checking in as the No. 5 OG. The small school star has the strength and size to dominate the line of scrimmage at the high school level. He also has the frame and upside to be considered a four-star recruit by some other scouting services.

ATH Jaden Nixon - Frisco Lone Star

Marvin Mims stole the show at Frisco Lone Star last season, but look to Nixon to be the premier playmaker in Jeff Rayburn's explosive offense this season. Rated as a three-star athlete, Nixon is a dangerous running back who can quickly find his top gear and make people miss in the open field. Nixon is verbally committed to Oklahoma State.

OC Ezra Oyetade - Garland Lakeview Centennial

Oyetade is an athletic center prospect with a high ceiling. He fires off the ball and can easily secure blocks at the second and third levels. He mauls defenders at the point of attack. Oyetade is now the No. 2 rated center in the state and has been selected to participate in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on January 2, 2021.

QB Maddox Kopp - Houston St. Thomas

Another rankings riser who used a strong performance at the Elite 11 to move up the ladder. Kopp also had a commanding performance at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 in Houston and was recently selected as the DCTF Prospect on the Rise. Schools like Ole Miss and Vanderbilt recently joined Houston on his offer list. The newly minted Hot 100 selection will announce his commitment on August 5.
