Fresh off of an MVP-worthy performance at the Elite 11, Longview 2020 QB Haynes King (6'3, 190) has been awarded five-star status.

King is the third player in Texas to capture the distinction, joining North Shore RB Zachary Evans and Tomball WR Demond Demas.

King has secured over 20 scholarship offers, making him one of the most highly sought after signal callers in the nation in the Class of 2020.

King has not yet announced a verbal commitment, but Texas A&M and Tennessee are thought of as the front-runners. He also took official visits to Auburn and Duke. Baylor is another school that is trying to remain in the picture.

As a junior, King passed for 3,877 yards and 42 touchdowns and rushed for 664 yards and eight scores.

King earned Dave Campbell's Texas Football Super Team and All-State honors. He has been named an All-American and will compete in the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando, Fla.
