Prospect on the Rise

This week we focus in on Cy-Ridge DB Je'Vaun Dabon (6'1, 171).

Dabon picked up his first SEC offer and his first Power Five Conference offer from Missouri.

Dabon also holds offers from schools like Houston, UTSA, Fordham, Louisiana, Abilene Christian, Tulsa, Houston Baptist, New Mexico State, Tulane, Southern Miss, Texas State, North Texas.

Dabon had a strong performance at the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase in Houston.

Commit of the Week

North Carolina picked up a commitment from FB Marshall 2020 QB Malik Hornsby (6'2, 171).

Hornsby picked the Tar Heels over offers from schools like Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas, Auburn, Florida State, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Georgia and Alabama.

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Hornsby is a true dual-threat quarterback who has a compact motion and has the arm strength to push the ball down the field. He runs exceptionally well, and he will punish defenses with his speed. Hornsby is a proven winner and led his team to a state title appearance in 2018.

Underclassman of the Week

This week's rising underclassman is Del Valle 2022 WR Caleb Burton (6'0, 160).

Burton has added new offers from Arkansas, Iowa State, SMU, Boston College, Oklahoma and Georgia Tech this week to go along with offers from Kansas, Syracuse and Arizona State.

Burton was named as one of the Top 25 freshmen in Texas in the Dave Campbell's Texas Football Rising magazine after an all-district performance in 2018.

Recruit of the Week

After being committed for 10 months, Manor 2020 RB Tahj Brooks (5'9, 211) decommitted from Tulsa.

Brooks decommitted one year precisely after picking up an offer from the Golden Hurricane, his first.

"I would like to say thank you to Tulsa and the entire coaching staff for extending my first division one offer," Brooks said. "After talking with my family, I have decided to decommit from Tulsa. This is the course of action in order to make the best decision for me."

Brooks is now considering offers from schools like SMU, Colorado, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Missouri, TCU, Minnesota, Arkansas, California, Utah, Georgia Tech, Arizona, Iowa State, Kansas State and North Texas.
