North Crowley 2026 OL John Turntine III (6'3, 275), the No. 1-rated OG and No. 4 overall prospect in the DCTX Rising 100, committed to Texas over a top-tier group of finalists that included Stanford, Texas A&M and Michigan.

It was a back-and-forth recruiting battle among national heavyweights, but in the end, Turntine's strong ties to the Texas staff — built over multiple campus visits to the 40 Acres — helped seal the deal.

He developed close relationships with both offensive line coach Kyle Flood and head coach Steve Sarkisian, who made Turntine a clear priority from the jump.

Rated as an interior offensive lineman, Turntine has been a constant force for North Crowley at left tackle. He could play anywhere along the line at the next level (OT, OG, OC). That flexibility will be a major asset in Austin.

“I’ve got to remain focused and keep working hard each week and not let being ranked get to me,” Turntine said. “I just appreciate that God put me in that position, and I want to build off of that day after day.”

Turntine's already shown what he’s capable of at the highest level of TXHSFB, helping lead North Crowley to a dominant 50-21 win over Austin Westlake in the 2024 6A Division I state championship.

His head coach, Ray Gates, offers high praise.

“Turntine is the epitome of a student-athlete,” Gates said. “Everything he does is exceptional—on and off the field. He is a vocal leader with a presence that commands respect throughout our program. John is the anchor of our football team, setting the tone with his work ethic, determination, and character. He is driven to succeed at the highest level, and there’s no doubt he will.”

It's hard to imagine a better fit for Texas.
