Lampasas (4-0) at Wimberley (4-0): Surprising Lampasas has flown under the radar early in the season, but the Badgers could put themselves right on the statewide marquee with an upset win on the road at state ranked Wimberley.

Lampasas got a much tougher than anticipated test last week, but it was able to survive in a 36-28 win over 5A Pflugerville Connally. RB Jett Walker finished with 146 yards and two touchdowns rushing, while two-way star Reed Jerome added 102 yards and a score on the ground along with 115-yards and two-touchdowns passing.

Wimberley had no trouble blowing past Fredericksburg a week ago as the Texans rolled to a 48-10 win, their 19th straight regular season victory. QB Cody Stover led a first-half offensive explosion as Wimberley raced out to a 42-3 halftime lead before emptying the bench in the second half.

Wimberley is playing as well as anyone in the state early on. Although Lampasas is a nice early season story, Wimberley has too much for a Lampasas team that’s had a softer early season slate.
