Anna (2-0) at Celina (3-0): It’s a Top 10 matchup in 4A-Division I and a rematch of a pair of exciting games played between these two programs a year ago, both of which were won by Anna.

The Coyotes had last week off, so Seth Parr’s squad has no doubt been gearing up for a tough Celina team. Anna rolled past Aubrey 42-0 two weeks ago behind 208 passing yards and four touchdowns from sophomore QB Ziondre Williams.

The Coyotes’ defense allowed just 171 yards of offense from Aubrey and forced three turnovers. Even more impressive is Anna is off to this strong start without WR Jacob Emmers, who has yet to play this season with a foot injury; the Coyotes hope to get him back in time for district play.

Celina escaped an upset bid from upstart Prosper Walnut Grove last week as the Bobcats held on for a 38-35 win over the independent program who will play UIL football next season.

The Bobcats offense, behind an old school Celina offensive line, has been outstanding early in the season, but the last two weeks the defense has been a bit of a concern. That will need to get rectified in a hurry because Anna is as explosive as it gets on offense.

Anna’s defense (yes defense) makes the difference in this Collin County showdown for bragging rights as the top 4A-Division I team in DFW.
