Southland Conference

• Quarterback Tyson Oliver announced on social media that he is transferring to Houston Christian from Texas A&M-Commerce. The Royse City product saw limited action with the Lions, appearing in four games last year.
• HCU added a defensive lineman last week when Tausagafou Ho Ching committed to the Huskies after spending the previous two seasons at Riverside City College.
• Wide receiver Jordan Wallace announced on Twitter that he is committing to play at Lamar. Wallace is transferring to Lamar after spending two seasons at Tyler, where he appeared in eight games for the Apaches last year.

Southwestern Athletic Conference

• Prairie View A&M coach Bubba McDowell wants to add defensive backs that prefer to play aggressive man-to-man defense. The Panthers added a transfer last week that fits what McDowell is looking for when Ahmad “Ammo” Robinson announced his commitment to PVAMU. Robinson was a 3-star prospect and appeared in four games during his freshman season at Arkansas State.

United Athletic Conference

• Former Klein Forest head coach Johnathan Wilson has accepted a position as the new running backs coach at Stephen F. Austin. The Golden Eagles broke a 19-game winning streak in Wilson’s first game as head coach and finished with back-to-back 5-5 records the last two seasons.
• Abilene Christian gained a commitment from running back Jordon Vaughn, who spent his freshman season at Wyoming. Vaughn did not see any action with the Cowboys and was a 3-star prospect out of Manvel High School.

Lone Star Conference

• The newly opened D. Kirk Edwards Family Human Performance Center at UTPB will add a nutrition center thanks to donations from Odessa natives Cindy and Homer Daniels. The nutrition center will be available for all athletes and has been a priority of Falcons coach Kris McCullough since he arrived at the end of December. 
• Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of former West Texas A&M coach Bill Kelly, who died on May 13 at the age of 75. Kelly manned the sidelines for the Buffs for three seasons, which included the program’s transition to NCAA Division II and WT’s first LSC football title in 1986. 

Sooner Athletic Conference

• Wayland Baptist announced it has joined the National Christian College Athletic Association beginning with the 2023 season. The Pioneers will remain a member of the NAIA and SAC, with the NCCAA providing WBU with more opportunities to participate in postseason action. WBU joins SAGU as the second SAC member to sponsor football and the fifth SAC member overall to join the NCCAA.
