Top Prospect Performances at UIL State Track Meet

Refugio 2024 WR Ernest Campbell is the state's fastest man. Campbell posted a blistering 10.22 2A 100-meter dash, the fastest time in the state, regardless of classification. Campbell took gold with a 20.92 200-meter time, the second fastest in the state regardless of classification, and helped Refugio capture gold in the 4x100. Campbell is the No. 100 prospect in the 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100. 

Gilmer 2024 ATH Will Henderson was not far behind Campbell, as he placed 1st in the 4A 100-meter with a 10.28 and helped lead Gilmer to a 1st place finish in the 4x100 and the 4x200. Henderson is one of the state's best-kept secrets in football recruiting, with offers from schools like Texas State, UTSA, Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State. 

Klein Forest 2024 WR Jelani Watkins posted the fastest 200-meter time at the event, taking gold in 6A with a 20.54. Watkins is one of the state's most heavily recruited prospects and is rated as a DCTF four-star and is considering offers from programs like Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and more. 

SFA signee Jarvis Anderson (Taylor) missed the 2022 state track meet to compete in the Deaflympics, but he returned to the UIL competition with a vengeance in 2023, capturing gold in three different events: Triple Jump (49-6.00), 110m Hurdles (13.64), and the 300m Hurdles (35.96)

Missouri signee Marquis Johnson (Dickinson) had one of the top all-around performances taking home 1st place in th3 6A 100-meter dash with a 10.45. Johnson finished second in the 200-meter with a 20.86 and the Long Jump with a 25-0.75.
