This Week in TXHSFB Recruiting presented by Chicken Express

Prospect on the Rise

Carthage 2025 OT Kash Courtney (6'5, 255) picked up a new offer from Houston.

The Cougars joined UTSA on Courtney's offer list as Jeff Traylor and the Roadrunners became his first offer on April 15.

Courtney helped lead Carthage to the 4A Division II state title as a sophomore in 2022.

Commit of the Week

Fort Bend Hightower 2024 WR Zion Kearney (6'3, 195) committed to Oklahoma over offers from Nebraska, LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Houston.

Kearney is rated as a DCTF four-star, checking in at No. 28 in the 2024 DCTF RISING Hot 100.

Underclassman of the Week

Port Arthur Memorial 2025 DE Michael Riles (6'3, 230) picked up new in-state offers from Baylor, Texas and Texas A&M.

The DCTF four-star also has offers from Houston, SMU, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTSA, Missouri, UCF, USC and more.

As a sophomore, Riles collected 45 tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, and three sacks to earn first-team all-district honors.

Recruit of the Week

Texas A&M was the only in-state school to make the Top 9 for Silsbee 2024 WR Drelon Miller (6'0, 200).

Tennessee, LSU, USC, Duke, Florida, Miami (FL), Georgia, and Penn State also made the cut.

Miller has official visits scheduled with Miami (June 2) and USC (June 16) and has planned to announce his commitment on June 29.
