McKinney 2024 S Xavier Filsaime (6'1, 180) has committed to Florida over offers from Georgia, LSU, Oregon and USC.

Filsaime, who has strong ties to the Sunshine State, is rated as the No. 1 safety in Texas.

"I'm actually from Florida (Orlando)," Filsaime said. "It felt good going out there because I was back in my home state, back with my family, and I was just around everybody that I love. That's what I really like about it."

"It just feels like a family connection."

Filsaime feels like Billy Napier has Florida trending in a positive direction.

Filsaime is the second player from Texas to commit to the Gators in the Class of 2024, joining four-star Willis QB Derek "DJ" Lagway.

"The program is definitely on the rise," Filsaime said. "Coach Napier, I love the way he talks and the energy he has towards anybody. I love how loyal he is to the program."
