Prospect on the Rise

Ingleside 2024 WR Jaydon Smith (6'0, 170) has picked up new offers this week from Washington, Nebraska, Boston College and Columbia. 

The DCTF three-star also owns offers from Air Force, Fordham, Texas Southern, North Texas and ULM.

Smith collected 50 receptions for 1,056 yards and 21 touchdowns, two INTs, and a returned a punt for a touchdown to earn 15-4A Division II Utility Player of the Year honors. 

Commit of the Week

Forney 2024 S Aaron Flowers (6'0, 185) committed to Oregon over offers from Oklahoma, USC and more. 

Flowers is rated as a DCTF four-star, checking in at No. 19 in the 2024 DCTF RISING Hot 100. 

Scouting Report: Flowers is an exceptional defensive back, with a reputation as one of the top players at his position, locally and nationally. At Forney, he has displayed versatility, playing both safety and cornerback. His body control is impressive, never wasting a movement while in reverse, and he can plant and change directions quickly.

Underclassman of the Week

Galveston Ball 2025 S Jonah Williams (6'3, 205) has been one of the state's hottest underclassmen this offseason. 

Williams was named to the DCTF five-star watch list and has secured 15 scholarship offers in 2023: Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Colorado State, Houston, Ohio State, Oklahoma, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech and UTSA

Williams collected 59 tackles, four interceptions (three returned for touchdowns), and had four punt return TDs to earn 9-5A Divison I Overall MVP honors.

Recruit of the Week

Katy 2024 OL Coen Echols (6'4, 300) has moved into the DCTF Rising 2024 Hot 100, checking in at No. 90. 

Echols has had a strong offseason winning OL MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Houston and the UC Report Camp in Dallas. 

Echols now has 14 offers: Arkansas State, Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, North Texas, Purdue, Texas Tech, Tulane, Utah State, Lamar, ULM, Montana State, Sam Houston and Texas Southern.
