Frisco Emerson 2024 QB Michael Hawkins Jr. (6'2, 190) announced that he would be making his commitment on April 8.

Hawkins named a Top 8 (Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Michigan, NC State, Oklahoma, TCU and Virginia Tech) and had originally planned to commit on Jan. 31, but there was some staff movement, new offers, and coaching rumors that delayed his initial timeline.

Here are two schools we are watching closely in the Hawkins sweepstakes and why.

Oklahoma - Hawkins has strong ties to Oklahoma as his father (Michael Hawkins) played his college ball at OU. Hawkins has taken multiple trips to Norman and has built a good relationship with OU offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby. OU is the sentimental favorite, Hawkins fits into the offensive system, and he is comfortable with the campus.

TCU - Hawkins had a tremendous relationship with Kendal Briles while he was at Arkansas, and fits his offensive scheme exceptionally well. TCU recently lost a commitment from Marcos Davila as Hawkins floated to the top of the Horned Frogs' QB board. Hawkins was impressed by TCU during a Junior Day visit.

Hawkins is rated as the No. 17 prospect in the DCTF RISING Hot 100.

As a junior at Allen, Hawkins completed 148 of 264 passes for 2,007 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 400 yards and four scores.
