Fort Bend ISD has named the first ever head coach at the district’s newest high school as Fort Bend Dulles offensive coordinator David Jackson was hired on Friday afternoon.

Jackson, who is a native of Fort Bend County and graduate of Austin High School, he played college football at Texas Southern. After spending three years in social work Coach Jackson was hired as a freshman coach at Fort Bend Dulles.

Coach Jackson has spent the past eight seasons on staff at Dulles working his way up from a freshman coach to the offensive coordinator in the spring of 2019.

“I’m just thrilled to have this unbelievable opportunity to lead the program at Crawford High School. It’s a great chance to build a foundation, traditions and culture in this community. I truly believe this is going to be an elite athletic program in all aspects,” said Coach Jackson.

Fort Bend Crawford High School will open in the fall of 2023 and will begin varsity football in 2024, it’s not yet determined what size school Crawford will be initially when it opens, but odds are Crawford will open as a Class 5A program. The school will open with just freshman and sophomores and will primarily pull from Ridge Point’s attendance zone. Crawford will be Fort Bend ISD’s twelfth high school, FBISD currently has eight 6A schools, one 5A-Division I program and two 5A-Division II programs.
