Texas A&M received a boost for its 2023 offense when star wide receiver Ainias Smith announced his return to the program for one more season. Smith, who only played in four games last season due to injury, is the program’s top receiver during the Jimbo Fisher era. Smith was third on the team in 2021 with 291 receiving yards despite only catching 15 passes. He’s also a weapon on special teams.

The Aggies added offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino in the offseason, and he’ll have plenty of weapons at his disposal. The group brings back young stars such as Evan Stewart and Moose Muhammad at wide receiver, as well as sophomore tight end Donovan Green. If quarterback Conner Weigman takes a step forward under Petrino’s guidance, the Aggies could boast a high-powered passing attack for the first time in years.
