Frisco Emerson 2024 QB Michael Hawkins (6'2, 190) was recently named the QB MVP at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas.

"It helps a lot," Hawkins said of the camp experience. "The movement drills, seeing how all the quarterback do it and seeing how you fit with all of the movement and then going to the one-on-oes and throwing deep balls and the out routes."

Hawkin's father (Mike Hawkins) played at Oklahoma. His younger brother (Maliek Hawkins) is a top prospect in the Class of 2025.

On the recruiting front, Hawkins has named a Top 8 (Alabama, Arkansas, Cincinnati, NC State, Oklahoma, TCU and Virginia Tech) and has set a commitment date for Jan. 31.

Oklahoma - "I keep it all open, I wouldn't say there is an advantage," Hawkins answered when asked if OU has an edge because his father played there. "One thing I will say is that they gave me a rundown of how they do their offense and how they call it. Their system fits me."

Arkansas - "Me and coach Pittman have a great relationship. It has evolved as the year has gone along. Their system fits me too, just the RPO and dropback game."

TCU - "I will say their fanbase is really good. I love Sonny Dykes, the way he operates. The coaching staff up there has really bought into the players."

As a junior, Hawkins completed 148 of 264 passes for 2,007 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 400 yards and four scores.
