After just three seasons leading Little River Academy’s football program, head coach Chris Lancaster has been named the next head football coach at Robinson High School. Lancaster replaces Mike Ludlow who resigned after one season at Robinson where he posted a 3-7 record.  

Lancaster led Little River Academy to one of their best seasons in school history in 2021 posting an 11-2 overall record and leading the Bumblebees to the Class 3A Division I Regional Semifinals. In three seasons leading LRA, Coach Lancaster amassed a 23-11 overall record. He also spent time as an assistant at the college level and was AD/HFC at Bruceville-Eddy from 2009-2013.  

Coach Lancaster does have ties to several in Robinson ISD administration, so the move makes sense from that standpoint along with reducing his commute time as he resides in Crawford. He leaves Little River-Academy in tremendous shape as with a young team in 2022, the ‘Bees posted a 5-6 mark, but 23 seniors return as Little River Academy looks to challenge for a district title in one of the state’s toughest districts that features the last two 3A-Division I state champions.  

Little River Academy is a growing area just outside of Temple and under current athletic director Jared Hunt the ‘Bees have experienced success in multiple sports, all in all this has the look of an attractive job opening in Central Texas. If there is a downside to the job it may be that with LRA’s fast growth there’s a chance they could be moving up to Class 4A in the next realignment.
