Prospect on the Rise

Klein Cain 2023 WR Jaelen Smith (6'1, 185) had a strong senior season and has been rewarded with some big offers as a result. 

The former quarterback turned receiver has picked up new offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Idaho State, Texas Southern, Holy Cross, Dartmouth, Memphis, UTSA and Vanderbilt in November. 

Smith just returned from an official visit to Michigan State and Minnesota is recruiting him very aggressively. 

Commit of the Week

Odessa 2024 WR Ivan Carreon (6'6, 195) committed to Texas Tech. 

Carreon collected 51 passes for 1,168 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior in 2022. 

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: Carreon is a three-sport high school star (football, basketball, track) with a huge catch radius and the ability to use his height to his advantage. His leaping ability and his frame make him an elite weapon in the red zone. He has produced at a high level statistically. 

Underclassman of the Week

Southlake Carroll 2025 TE Jack VanDorselaer (6'4, 225) added an offer from TCU to an impressive early list. 

VanDorselaer also boasts offers from Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UIW and Colorado. 

Recruit of the Week

El Campo 2023 RB Rueben Owens II (5'11, 190) will be a hot target down the recruiting homestretch. 

Schools like TCU, Texas A&M and Ohio State are turning up the heat on the Louisville commit now that head coach Scott Satterfield has left for the Cincinnati job. 

Owens is rated as the No. 3 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100, checking in as a five-star prospect and the No. 1 RB in the state.
