Austin Westlake 2023 DE Colton Vasek (6'6, 235) just announced that he flipped his commitment from Oklahoma to Texas.

Vasek has a deep connection to Texas as his father Brian Vasek played defensive end at UT from 1991-95.

"I grew up a Texas fan and really enjoyed seeing the way the program has changed throughout the years," Vasek previously reported to DCTF.

"I have great relationships with Coach [Pate] Kwiatkowski and Coach [AJ] Milwee. Texas has also developed many players over the years, which is something that definitely sticks out."

Vasek was named the Defensive MVP of the 2021 6A Division II state title game after he racked up three sacks in a win over Denton Guyer.

He is rated as the No. 7 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100 and the No. 2 DE in Texas.

Scouting Report: Vasek is a very athletic defensive end who can stand up and play linebacker at times. He is a downhill, attacking-style player who can quickly get to the football. He is relentless, but it is a strategic plan of action because he is a highly-intelligent player who will tap into a bottomless bag of pass-rush moves to keep offensive linemen off balance. Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson is a good comparison.
