Coppell (4-0, 1-0) at Lewisville (3-1, 1-0)

It’s a big showdown in 6-6A with major playoff implications as both of these teams could easily slide to the Division I bracket, so playoff seeding could be in play.

Coppell has been impressive in their first four games under first year head coach Antonio Wiley, but this will be their biggest test of the young season. Last week Coppell opened up district play with a 46-35 win over Plano West. Blake Robbins ran for four touchdowns and the Coppell defense forced a pair of turnovers that proved to be key.

Lewisville escaped last week with a 28-21 road win over Flower Mound as Viron Ellison ran for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Fighting Farmers.

Both teams had a mixed bag last week, Coppell’s defense was gashed for well over 400 yards, while Lewisville was minus two in the turnover department. I think Lewisville at home cuts back on the turnovers and remains at the top of the district standings.
