We're barely one week into the season and we've already seen tons of shakeup to the DCTF rankings. We had three Game of the Year candidates inside the Alamodome, Allen getting routed and Duncanville and South Oak Cliff putting on a slugfest. It's good to be back.

Thursday, September 1

Fort Bend Dulles vs Cy Woods, CFFCU
6:30 p.m.

Alief Hastings vs Cy Falls, Pridgeon Stadium
6:30 p.m.
Link

Fort Bend Hightower vs No. 8 Spring Westfield, Planet Ford Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Spring Westfield’s first big test of the year is a Fort Bend Hightower program fresh off of a breakout 2021. The Hurricanes got a solid test from Pearland Dawson in Week 1 while the Mustangs rolled. If Westfield rolls again, this may be another dominant year for Matt Meekins’ team.

Houston Memorial vs Pearland, The Rig
7 p.m.
Link

No. 4 Fort Bend Marshall vs Crosby, Cougar Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Crosby wants to shake off an embarrassing loss to CE King last week while Fort Bend Marshall looks to prove last week’s shaky win over Klein was just early-season rust. What will give way?

Killeen Ellison vs Pflugerville Hendrickson, The Pfield
7 p.m.

Friday, September 2

No. 10 Humble Atascocita vs No. 5 Katy, Legacy Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

A convincing shutout win over Dickinson has Atascocita believing that this is the year it can get the best of Katy. But it’s a Believe-It-When-You-See-It type of situation until it gets done. This one will be a heavyweight fight.

No. 22 Cypress Bridgeland vs No. 12 Katy Tompkins, Rhodes Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Bridgeland quarterback Hudson Pollard flashes some dual threat ability last week in his debut for the Bears. Now comes the first big test of the season facing a Tompkins program that’s arguably only been bested by North Shore and Katy over the last few years in the Houston area.

Klein Collins vs Pearland Dawson, The Nest
7 p.m.
Link

Fort Bend Ridge Point vs Dickinson, Sam Vitanza Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Clear Springs vs No. 17 Alvin Shadow Creek, Freedom Field
7 p.m.
Link

Tomball vs Magnolia, Bulldog Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Buda Johnson vs Lake Belton, Tiger Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Port Neches-Groves vs Beaumont United, Beaumont United Stadium
7 p.m.
Link

Austin McCallum vs Kyle Lehman, Shelton Stadium
7 p.m.

No. 8 Tyler Chapel Hill vs Van, Memorial Stadium
7:30 p.m.
Link

No. 13 Lake Travis vs No. 15 Cibolo Steele, Lenhoff Stadium
7:30 p.m.
Link

No Bo Edmundson last week meant that Lake Travis faced Arlington Martin shorthanded. But do the Cavs get back on track against a Cibolo Steele team that put on a show in the Alamodome and pulled out a last-second win over San Antonio Brennan?

Saturday, September 3

No. 24 Katy Paetow vs Cy Ranch, CFFCU Stadium
6 p.m.
Link

No. 2 Galena Park North Shore vs Spring, Planet Ford Stadium
6 p.m.
Link

Kingwood Park vs Katy Morton Ranch, Legacy Stadium
6 p.m.
