We're back. Welcome to the first week of Texas high school after another long offseason. And thankfully, we're in for a stacked weekend. Whether you're in El Paso, the Valley, the Panhandle, the Golden Triangle or the DFW metroplex. We have you covered with Texan Live streamed games.

Here are a select few of the ones I feel that are worth checking out. For the complete list of games streaming this weekend, be sure to visit TexanLive.com.

Thursday, August 25

Austin Akins vs Buda Hays, 7 p.m.
Shelton Stadium

Cy Falls vs Cy Creek, 6:30 p.m.
Pridgeon Stadium
Link

No. 19 Dickinson vs No. 11 Humble Atascocita, 7 p.m.
Turner Stadium
Link
We’re expecting a huge year for Atascocita after a regional final run in 2021 and an early test against Dickinson, who possess some of the most athletic wideouts and defensive backs in the state, will show us everything we need to know about both teams. Eagle corner Braylon Conley against Gator receiver Marquis Johnson is the one to watch here.

Humble Summer Creek vs Klein Cain, 7 p.m.
Klein Memorial Stadium
Link
A clash of two respectable Houston-area programs with playoff expectations. Cain’s underclassmen will be thrusted into a physical game against a breakout Summer Creek program following a regional final run. The Bulldog offense led by Melvin Nichols and Lloyd Avant should pose a big challenge for Hurricane defense returning just four starters.

Katy Tompkins vs Cy Ranch, 6:30 p.m.
CFFCU Stadium
Link

Friday, August 26

C.E. King vs No. 6 Crosby, 7 p.m.
Cougar Stadium
Link

Conroe vs Katy Paetow, 6 p.m.
Legacy Stadium
Link

Cy Park vs No. 9 Spring Westfield, 7 p.m.
Planet Ford Stadium
Link

Cy Woods vs Katy Taylor, 7 p.m.
Rhodes Stadium
Link

Fort Bend Hightower vs Pearland Dawson, 7 p.m.
The Nest
Link

No. 2 Gilmer vs No. 3 Tyler Chapel Hill, 7:30 p.m. *MARQUEE MATCHUP*
Bulldog Stadium
Link
An East Texas staple takes on the new kids on the block. Both of these programs expect to be playing well past Thanksgiving and give us arguably one of the best matchups in the entire state in Week 1. This will be our first chance to see Gilmer post-Brandon Tennison and that’s the biggest question mark for the Buckeyes while Chapel Hill’s stellar offense led by Tyson Berry, Ilonzo McGregor and Demetrius Brisbon are no longer underclassmen playing above expectations. If Gilmer’s quarterback finds a groove, expect a high-scoring affair.

No. 5 Katy vs Clear Springs, 7 p.m.
Challenger Stadium
Link

Pflugerville Hendrickson vs Belton, 7 p.m.
Tiger field
Link

No. 7 Wimberley vs Canyon Lake, 7:30 p.m.
Cavalier Stadium
Link

Saturday, August 27

Cy-Fair vs Cy Bridgeland, 6 p.m.
CFFCU Stadium
Link

Temple vs McKinney, Noon
McKinney ISD Stadium
Link
By all accounts, McKinney is in for a breakout year under Marcus Shavers with quarterback Keldric Luster in the fold. An early-season contest against a proud program like Temple will show us what the Lions are all about.
