2023 Highland Park QB Brennan Storer (5'11, 190) committed to Western Michigan over offers from Akron, California, Kent State and Texas State.

Storer plays for one of the state's most prestigious programs, stepping up to lead the Scots to a 10-2 record versus 6A competition, the largest classification in Texas high school football.

As a junior, Storer passed for 2,525 yards and 25 touchdowns and rushed for 345 yards and eight TDs.

He is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect, checking in as the No. 6 QB in the state.

So what led one the top-rated quarterbacks in the state to issue his verbal pledge to attend a university over 1,000 miles away from home?

"For me, it was all about feeling at home, and the staff did a great job at making it feel like it," Storer reported.

"Coach (Tim) Lester (Western Michigan Head Coach) and Coach (Jeff) Thorne (Offensive Coordinator) were both QBs and have a great history with developing QBs.

"They have an offensive system that I fit well with and feel like I can thrive in. The first time I talked to both Coach Thorne and Coach Lester, I just felt a connection and felt comfortable talking to them. I have full confidence that they will put me in a position to excel at the next level."

Scouting Report: Storer has experience playing in a high school program that puts a lot of pressure on the play under center. He is a quarterback who likes to press the action, and he will take chances with the football to try and put his team in a position to win. His creativity and ability to push the action set him apart. He has the arm to make the throws and will pull the ball down and run when needed.
