Tupac. The Rock. Jimbo Fisher.

The head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies delivered a promo resembling a diss track during a press conference Thursday morning following Nick Saban’s remarks the night before that “A&M bought every player in their 2022 recruiting class.” Fisher called the allegations despicable before going in on his former boss.

“Some people think they’re God,” Fisher said of Saban. “Go dig into how God did his deal. You may find out about a guy, a lot of things you don’t want to know. We build him into the czar of college football. Go dig into his past.”

Fisher was clearly upset. The Aggies signed the top-rated recruiting class in recorded history during the 2022 cycle, inking eight five stars among the 30 additions. Alabama finished second in the national recruiting rankings. A&M signed as many five stars as Alabama and Georgia combined. Fisher called Saban a narcissist and defended the way his recruiting class was built.

“I just know that what we did was nothing wrong,” Fisher said. “Nothing was promised. Nothing was a deal. And we didn’t buy any players.”

Texas A&M travels to Alabama on Oct. 8. The Aggies upset the Crimson Tide at Kyle Field in 2021. Losing to Texas A&M twice in a row – once on the field and once on the recruiting trail – clearly rattled Saban, a man not used to taking a backseat to anyone in college football.

“This is the second time I’ve had to address this from grown men who don’t get their way and pout and throw a fit,” Fisher said. “Just go ask the people who’ve worked for (Saban). They know exactly what he’s about. When people show you who they are, believe them.”

Fisher said Saban reached out after last night but that he didn’t answer and “is done” with Saban. SEC meetings are around the corner and media days take place in July.
