Prospect on the Rise

New Caney 2023 CB CJ Blocker (6'0, 165) picked up his first P5 offer from Nebraska and added an offer from Tulsa this week.  

Blocker also holds offers from Houston Baptist, UIW, Louisiana Tech and Northwestern State. 

Blocker is a talented defender with great speed. He reports a 10.6 100-meter dash and earned first team all-district honors as a junior in 2021. 

Commit of the Week

Canutillo 2023 ATH LJ Martin (6'2, 200) committed to Texas Tech over offers from Baylor, SMU, UTSA, Kansas and Kansas State. 

Martin is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect. He checks in as the No. 94 prospect in the state and is the No. 7 rated ATH. 

Next Level Athlete Scouting Report: 

Martin is an exciting high school athlete who lines up at RB/WR/Wildcat QB. He is electric with the ball in his hands, utilizing a weaving type of run style. He shows good cutback vision and makes athletic 50/50 catches when playing wide receiver. Has good size and frame. He could play a number of different positions in college. 

Underclassman of the Week

Lancaster 2024 S/CB Corian Gipson (5'11, 165) has been the state's hottest recruit. 

This week, Gipson picked up new offers from LSU, Alabama, Florida State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Oregon. 

Those programs join Baylor, SMU, Texas, Texas Tech, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Notre Dame and Oklahoma State on his early offer list. 

Recruit of the Week

Amarillo Tascosa 2023 DE Avion Carter (6'4, 240) announced a top four of TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State. 

Carter is rated as a DCTF four-star prospect. He checks in as the No. 25 prospect in the state and is the No. 4 rated DE. 

Carter was named the District 2-5A Division I Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 55 tackles, 15 TFLs, and eight sacks as a junior.
